We now need to put some content on the blog so a 300 to 500 word article will give us a good start. Just go to google and sign up for an adsense account and they have a step by step guide showing you how to place the adds on your site, it's very easy and is just a matter of copying and pasting a piece of code.

Another option is to place recommendations for a product or service whose affiliate programme you are promoting. This method differs from Google Adsense in that you only get paid when someone actually makes a purchase after clicking on you affiliate link but in many cases the payments you will receive are far higher.

When promoting an affiliate programme is is sometimes tempting to just put up a banner advert which admittedly looks good but I can assure you that you will be far more successful if you just include a text link in the middle of some informative content which describe the product that you are advertising.

It is then just a matter of adding fresh content to the blog on a regular basis and before you know it you will have a number of pages with each one capable of generating money for you.
